Morro Bay For Your Next Family Weekend Getaway
My wife has been inundated with holiday family sessions and was in need of a break. So I packed the clan for a short getaway to one of the jewels of Central California’s coast, Morro Bay.
Whether you are camping or staying in a hotel, Morro Bay is an often overlooked great family getaway!
Situated a few miles from San Luis Obispo, Hearst Castle and Pismo Beach, Morro Bay is a small beachside community with large outdoor fun and activities.
During our short stay, the kids enjoyed exploring Morro Rock, walking the embarcadero, and enjoying the wildlife.

Restaurants
The Coffee Pot Restaurant – Perfect local spot for a breakfast with large portions.
Hofbrau – Stop in for a roast beef sandwich, clam showder or beer and enjoy the Morro Rock view.
Dutchman’s Seafood – Typical seaside fare with a family-friendly atmosphere.
The city reminds us of Monterey, but with three-fourths of the crowd. If you’re looking to escape the city or avoid amusement parks, head to laid-back Morro Bay.
What was your favorite Morro Bay experience? We love to connect with others, so feel free to leave us a comment!
